Emma Hammond – Associate
BA Hons, solicitor, member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
Emma Hammond qualified as a solicitor in 1998 at Walker Morris, one of the “big six” firms in Leeds, having studied French and Spanish at Newcastle University and law at the College of Law in York.
As with Natalie, Emma advises clients on the full spectrum of employment law issues covering contentious and non-contentious matters for both employers and senior individuals.
Emma brings to Pharos her extensive experience of practising as a solicitor in a number of diverse environments and acting in several high profile cases.
For 5 years, Emma was a senior in-house employment solicitor for a major supermarket. Here, Emma acted as both legal counsel and a hands-on “operator”, playing an integral role in the HR function. Emma gained awards for her passionate commitment to devising and delivering training.
Emma also spent some time working as a sole practitioner, where she was able to build on her experience by working for local public sector organisations as well as continuing to advise employers and senior individuals, (including publically quoted companies).
More recently, Emma worked for the nationally renowned healthcare employment team at DAC Beachcroft, gaining further experience of advising and delivering training to public sector organisations. Emma was also jointly responsible for supervising a team of lawyers who managed an insurance client’s Employment Practices Liability work.
Emma is committed to building strong and lasting client relationships, evidenced by the fact that clients from the late 1990s have followed her to Pharos Legal.
Emma prides herself on having a common sense, down to earth and very commercial approach, always striving to gain the best understanding of her client’s issues as efficiently as possible before providing timely advice drafted in a straightforward manner.
